From the Race Directors
On behalf of our Pikes Peak Marathon, Inc., race staff, committee, and volunteers, we want to welcome you to Manitou Springs and the exciting race weekend and expo.
The Pikes Peak Ascent and 69th running of the Pikes Peak Marathon are embedded in rich history and outstanding human accomplishment. We look forward to celebrating each and every runner’s accomplishment taking place on
America’s Mountain.
We hope to see you in Memorial Park for our race expo from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, and continuing all day on Friday, Sept. 20 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Enjoy runner camaraderie and check out the full schedule of events taking place all weekend. Join The North Face, Fleet Feet Colorado Springs, and fellow runners for an easy shakeout run from Memorial Park on Friday, Sept. 20 at 9:30 a.m. Plan to spend some time with your friends and family in Memorial Park at this year’s expo to take full advantage of the great programming we have lined up.
While we wish we could control the weather, nature always has other ideas. In 2022 we had dry, outstanding weather, and in 2023 some snow graced the summit of Pikes Peak prior to the Ascent. As a reminder, these races are high-altitude mountain events. The safety of our runners and support staff is paramount, followed by our leave no trace guidelines. Please be sure to be aware of the continued mandatory gear and water bottle requirements. The requirement to carry a hooded, windproof, water-resistant jacket and a 12-ounce or larger refillable and sealable water vessel has been designed to enhance everyone’s overall race experience. Come prepared and have the best race day!
For last-minute race updates and additional information, be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page.
The whole community of Manitou Springs and Pikes Peak race staff and volunteers wish you the best on your run up (and possibly down) Pikes Peak. Enjoy Manitou Springs, and be sure to connect with your fellow runners to hear their incredible stories over the course of the race weekend.
See you on the trail!
