Bravo....exactly what I thought after the finish of the Ascent in 1992, and exactly the same thing you did, I went down to watch the marathoner's, and continue to run the marathon, except for the war deployments, and overseas tours.... there is nothing even close to the feeling of finishing the Pike's Peak Marathon!!! HOOAH!!!

I hear ya...I ran the Ascent, encountered my emotional low point around A-Frame (lasted about a mile or so), then by the finish line I was ecstatic and already looking forward to running the race again next year. Then, the following morning, as I watched the PPM'ers finish, I thought, heck, why not just go big and do the whole marathon next year? :) We runners are a strange bunch.
