Itís pretty entertaining to read through the prediction times, especially the Ascent. Iím assuming that rather than egos, the unrealistic times are due to people just not understanding that this is nowhere near a regular Ĺ marathon. Iíve found that, even with altitude training, my Ascent time is pretty close to a flat road marathon time. I see lots of entrants on the list that have added just a few minutes over their Ĺ marathon qualifying times. I hope they do a bit more reading to understand whatís in store before race day. This is by no means meant to scare anyone. This is an awesome race and is doable by any reasonably fit runner. But I imagine it would be a pretty long and demoralizing day if youíre anticipating on finishing close to your flat Ĺ marathon time.
