I will put my 2 cents in for spreading out the starting times a little. I'd trade a little more congestion on other parts of the trail where there is some hope of being able to pass to reduce the congestion in the W's where all one can do is try and relax and know you're at the mercy of the group. My initial split showed I had the 46th fastest split in the W's (out of 48 in my division), but I couldn't do anything about it. My second split, I had the 28th fastest time. Between Barr Camp and A-Frame and A-Frame to the finish, I had the 24th fastest split in my division. Next year I'll try and invest a little more energy early. It's just that I would rather try and run my race than run someone else's.
Everything else about the race was great and very professional...well-administered, great volunteers, aid station food was great to have even though I carried my own gels, and even the weather was gorgeous. Pizza was good, but I was still hungry, so I went to a local restaurant for a great meal. And another special thanks to the volunteers where it has to be a real chore just to get into position, let alone get the supplies there. Thanks for a great race.
