I ran this marathon first time this year. When I got to the turn around time at the top, but it wasn't really at the top of the summit. I asked the officials at the turn around if I can continue to the top, but they won't let me. I wish I could get to see the Pikes Peak sign and get the actual peak. So I felt that I hasn't "really" reach the top.. I know the Ascent race can because they will have to get to the top to catch the ride back donw.. But why marathon race wouldn't continue just a 10-20 feets further up to the top?
