oh, one more caveat...I am running the Hood to Coast relay (http://www.hoodtocoast.com/) the following weekend and want to survive it... In response to: Hello: I ran the Ascent last year and finished in a descent time and good spirits. However, I was one of the unfortunate souls that had to turn back in 2008 at A-Frame due to conditions on the top. I ran the whole way down and felt fine, albeit disappointed. My question is for all those that have done the marathon before: do those extra 6 miles (3 up, 3 down) make much of a difference, that is, are those unique enough miles to make me scream bloody murder? Or is it that I will just be out there longer and therefore need to train for that? I've done many marathons in the past and have always enjoyed the challenge. I am trying to determine if I should go for the marathon this year. Thanks!
