I usually prefer training with real food for fueling during long runs. I generally use mixed nuts/trail mix and pretzels. I just snack on a few at a time as I go and that seems to work pretty well for me. However, I read in Matt Carpenter's training manual that it is hard for the body to handle real food at high altitude. Do you use real food or gels? Any recommendations? Thanks, Laura
