Since June 25, I've been having more labored breathing issues when I pick up the pace or run uphill. I did Mt. Evans Ascent race June 16 and then proceeded to get 50 miles over the course of the next week, including a 12mi run June 23-the day the fire began. I didn't smell much smoke and didn't feel as if I breathed much in. Took the next day off and stayed inside all day with windows shut due to more smoke (we live on Mesa Rd on westside). The next day-June 25-I went out for an easy 6mi run and felt sluggish, labored in my breathing, and felt like I took 3 steps back in my training/fitness level. Since then, I haven't really improved and have tried taking several days off to see if I might recover. I've never experienced anything like this since I began running over 4 years ago. It has me quite perplexed. I should also mention that my wife and I moved to Colo Springs 11.5 weeks ago from Ohio. I felt like I was adjusting to the altitude pretty good and have averaged 45-55 miles/week. Anyone ever experience something like this?
