There are a lot of runners traveling here who haven't been on the Peak or know how the weather can change. They need to come prepared for any kind of weather. I finished in 08 and saw the results of runners not knowing what to expect and not being prepared (Including me). The common theme the last mile was not finishing, it was staying alive. I know one runner who finished with a body core temperature of 83 degrees.

Perspective in what regard? I was up there yesterday and it was sunny and gorgeous with light winds. It really depends on the day, making it impossible to predict race-day conditions three weeks out.
