I'm a 1:50 midwest half-marathoner and first time PPA. My goal (which may be aggressive) is to break 4 hours. Reading a lot of Boards and watching YouTube videos, I'm concerned about getting stuck too far back in the pack by the time we hit the W's that I may not be able to make my goal. However, I keep reading that you shouldn't push too hard at the start "or you'll pay for it later above tree-line".
So I'm looking for advice on how to pace myself on Ruxton so that I don't go out too hard but don't get stuck too far back in the "congo line".
My plan is to talk to lots of folks in the starting area and find someone with experience finishing at 4 hours and try staying on their heels.
Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
