To me, the weather here seems to have been much more ‘active’ this year than the last couple.
Many more days this year have been ‘iffy’ for training on the Peak. There’s lots of standing water on the trail, and snow glistened on the front face Wed afternoon, and fell measurably again Saturday evening.
I wanted to go up a week ago today and it was socked in so low I couldn’t see the next ridge from my house, let alone the Peak. I did go up yesterday, and it began to rain promptly at 11am, ~1.5Hours before I’ll finish on Race day.
In fact, Snow is in the forecast for the Summit the whole rest of this week starting Tuesday night.
Hopefully it’ll be gorgeous on Race day, but I’d think about and pack all the stuff you might want if the weather is 'Active' on Race Day, especially this year.
