A real tragedy as one, possibly more people perished, but not unexpected. Problem is this will continue for years to come...and this flood was with "only" an estimated average of 1.5 inches over the burn scar. Last week southern CO had a storm which produced 5 inches of rain in an hour. I can understand the sentiment to cancel the race but Manitou and CO Springs get a lot of $$ from the runners over the next week as hotels and restaurants fill up. I think it would be a mistake to cancel the race.
