Cups at aid stations?

So as a back of the packer I brought my fuel belt and planned to re-fill as/if needed. At the last water station where they have the hose(s) that really originates at the peak (I think) they had issues with enough flow so they said if you have water please go on and save it for those that don't. I don't know the real issues (hey, I was at altitude) but glad I had filled up at previous station.
