Hey Seth, This link is to a blog from the winner of the Wahsatch Steeplechase 2012 that I ran in June. While not an exact comparison to the effort you're going to need for PPM, this race did have some long, serious vert at elevation. The winner was injured, and did the bulk of his training for this race while climbing on the bike. http://fritz.fastrunningblog.com/blog-06-2012.html
