Thanks, mtfrank, for your message. I don't know how "pause" is defined. (complete stop? for how long? Slow down? To what pace?) I doubt I will notice enough at A-Frame to know it's time to clear a path between me and the chip reader. This race is the greatest and the organizers are the supreme. Organizers and volunteers show tremendous knowledge/understanding AND ALSO "feel" for the experience. Maybe they know something that mtfrank and I are missing. I'm not convinced we can all individually pause at the Start. I'm not convinced we can all separately jostle or sidestep or elbow to have 1,800 clear paths between us and the machine at A-Frame. I don't know how I would know if the machine has read my chip or not. The answer may be: When I can't find myself in the results.
