I'm in charge of the chip timing and was the one that wrote the verbiage about the chip timing. I haven't ready everybody's comment on this thread, but I'm sorry if I've caused undo concern. For pause, all I mean is don't do a Usain Bolt sprint across the mats. It doesn't mean stop. Just take it easy, but keep moving forward. At the start, you shouldn't be in a hurry at that point anyway. At A-Frame, you'll be single file, so there's probably not much chance that you'll be blocked by another runner. Nobody will be DQ'd if the chip system does not read your time. If that happens, just come and tell the guys on the computers and we'll fix it. We have used this system on earlier races this year. Our read rates have been as follows: Garden 10M: Start Line Read Rates: 98.29% 5M Split Read Rates: 99.52% Finish Line Read Rates: 99.52% Garden 5K: Start Line Read Rates: 98.83% Finish Line Read Rates: 100% Summer Roundup Trail Run: Start Line Read Rate: 96.91% Turn around Read Rate: 98.08% Finish Line Read Rate: 99.85% The most important place to have your chip read is at the finish line. So if you are not finding your name in the results we post, just come and tell us and we'll fix it. Sorry again for the confusion that I've caused. Good luck on race weekend.
