I usually spend a couple of hours at the top the day before the race. Not much more than that. No activity, just hang around. If it's hot, I would not spend too much time outside getting sunburned. If you are watching Ascent finish, you will have to park at Devils Playground and take a shuttle to the top. Take that into account as that adds time.
