I use the hour-by-hour forecasts. They have been quite accurate for the last 5 PPA/PPM that I have observed. http://forecast.weather.gov//MapClick.php?w0=t&w1=td&w2=hi&w3=sfcwind&w3u=1&w4=sky&w5=pop&w6=rh&w7=thunder&w8=rain&w12u=1&pqpfhr=6&psnwhr=6&AheadHour=48&FcstType=graphical&textField1=38.84051&textField2=-105.04298&site=all&unit=0&dd=0&bw=0&BackDay.x=31&BackDay.y=11&BackDay=0 In response to: Generally, the forecast up top is for afternoon. Mornings in the Pikes Peak area are GENERALLY sunny and warm. Afternoon thunderstorms usually roll in about 2 PM. You will likely be done by then. However, 2004, 2005, and 2008 were not good days to be on the mountain past 4 hours on Ascent day.
