Could not agree any more!! I went out to Manitou Aug. 1st to race up the incline.. WOW. 50 min. later I was done and about to die!! Next day I did 46 min. In May I plan on staying out in Manitou for a week just to run trails and enjoy the beauty of Colorado. In Kansas we think a tree is beautiful!! I love Pikes, favorite and toughest race that I run!! This year could not have gone any better for me at all !!!! In response to: I hear ya...I ran the Ascent, encountered my emotional low point around A-Frame (lasted about a mile or so), then by the finish line I was ecstatic and already looking forward to running the race again next year. Then, the following morning, as I watched the PPM'ers finish, I thought, heck, why not just go big and do the whole marathon next year? :) We runners are a strange bunch.
