So yesterday I did my first downhill run on the Peak. (WooHoo!) I realized that during the marathon there's a little safety/politeness issue I need to address. I'll be cruising along at a fast clip, hopping, flying, landing. Then there's an obstacle that's more than I'm willing to risk at high speed, so I stop very abruptly and step over it. My concern is that if someone is right behind me (likely, no?) they may slam right into me or at least get PO'd. Q: Is there some kind of hand signal trail runners use for sudden stops ? I kinda thought just putting my palms facing backwards might work, but wondered if there's a standard.
