Vary speed and time according to your ability, remember the Ascent is a long race and don't use a straw.. In response to: Thanks! I am going to try this workout this week. Do you gradually increase the time? Or do you stay at the hour? In response to: Set your treadmill on 11% grade walk 3 mph (20 minute miles) for a quarter mile then 5 mph (12 minute miles) for a quarter mile repeat for an hour. To simulate being above tree line do the same thing except breath through a straw.
