I ran zero drop for 10 miler and roundup. Ran up Barr first time yesterday and felt like I might appreciate some drop. Seems like it might keep Achilles stretching so much and save a little work from calf muscles. Thoughts? In response to: Light is good for uphill as has been suggested in this thread. I used New Balance MT 101 in 2011 for Ascent. I believe 5 ounces, and very little drop from heel to toe (practically flat). Since there are very few downhills on the Ascent, you won't be slamming your toes into the front of your shoe like you might if you were doing the PPM.
