Shoes (Trail or Road) for marathon?
6/7/2014 10:19:18 PM
I've run the Ascent in the Well Cushioned Saucony Progrid Ride, and Super Cushioned Brooks Glycerin Road Shoes. But for the my first Marathon this year, I too will be sporting Hoka's. In my case the Stinson Trail, because I've found the truly flat-soled road shoes slip in the steeper and looser sections of Barr Trail. Hoka's were designed to ease the steep downhills of European runs like UTMB, and besides being Super Cushioned, they do just that. For the uphill I'll run with a 2mm heel lift, which flattens out about a 7% grade. Best of Luck!
