How Tall is Pikes Peak?
Pikes Peak is 14,115' tall—the 30th (31st on some lists) tallest of Colorado’s 53 (54 on some lists) 14ers. The height was revised from 14,110' in 2002. Story.

Kiwanis Club Carbo Feed
An ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT carbo feed presented by the Manitou Springs Kiwanis Club and open to all runners, families and guests.
Unlimited pasta and potatoes and all the fixings including dessert. Join other runners for some fun, good times and a great meal!
The cost is $12.00 per person and you may pay at the door.
Dinner proceeds are used to support:
- Scouting
- Local education & leadership projects for youth
- Local and worldwide concerns for young children

Memorial Park is located just east of the Manitou Springs City Hall, Police and
Fire Departments in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue. It is approximately 6 miles west of Colorado Springs.

Peak Buster’s - Ladies Only Event
Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm
Come join us for light refreshments in the garden room at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at the intersection of Canon and Manitou Avenues in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
Meet your fellow female running mates Arlene Pieper Stine, who was the first female to tackle the Pikes Peak Marathon, and her daughter Kathie Pieper, who finished the Ascent at age 9.
Hear and talk with running experts Joanie DeBever and Kathleen Morrow as they share success tips and secrets, including the physical demands and
psychology of running at altitude. Sister Marion Irvine, the running nun and oldest runner to qualify for and run the Olympic Marathon Trials, will keep the group in stitches with hilarious personal stories and
tales from her years of running. Jan Seeley of Marathon and Beyond will emcee. This gathering is an absolute must for all female Pikes Peak runners.
Come fill your cup with stories, wisdom and get the support necessary to successfully tackle PIKES PEAK for a truly PEAK ‛MOUNTAIN TOP’ EXPERIENCE.

Post-Race Massage
Pikes Peak Massage / Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy will be providing postrace massage:
- Ascent, Memorial Park, 11:30 - 4:30pm
- Marathon, Soda Springs Park, 12:00 - 5:00pm
15 minutes - $10.00, 30 minutes - $20
Cash or check ONLY. Payment is due at time of session or may be pre-paid. Cash or check only.
Massage is set up on a first-come, first-served basis. Should there be a waiting list prepaid
clients will receive priority. For pre-pay, include which day you want the session
(do not specify a time), your address and telephone number.

After the Ascent:
12:00 Noon - 3:00pm Memorial Park - Free food and beverages, until it’s gone.
After the Marathon:
12 Noon - 3:00pm Soda Springs Park - Free food and beverages, until it’s gone. Soda Springs Park is just across the stream from the Marathon finish at the intersection of Ruxton Avenue and Manitou Avenue

- Free showers for runners at Schryver Park pool.
The Clarion Hotel will provide rooms at a special rate to all Triple Crown/Pikes Peak runners.
The hotel is approximately 11 minutes from Manitou Springs. When making reservations you need to state that you are participating in either the Garden of the Gods 10 Mile Run, the Summer Roundup
Trail Run 12K or the Pikes Peak Ascent or Marathon. You can call them at 800-477-8610. Reservations must be made by July 30, 2011.
