On day, one episode
Every day, from 16th to 22nd December, at 9 pm (CET), it’s time to connect to the Golden Trail TV, to catch each new episode from the series "Chasing Dreams" produced by the Golden Trail Series. "After four years of this circuit, we decided to produce a 7-episode TV series to showcase all those involved in the Golden Trail World Series", explains Grégory Vollet, Director of the Golden Trail Series. An exceptional opportunity to enter the intimate lives of the runners, to hear about their dreams, fears, joys, and more. "How do they deal with the pressure, their rivals, and injuries? How do brands battle to have the best visibility? The series answers a huge array of these questions" continues Grégory Vollet.
A new way
Trail running’s evolution and inspiration have accelerated since its inception thanks to digital networks. Since 2010, social networks have been very active in showcasing sporting performances of athletes such as Kilian Jornet, who inspired a generation of sports enthusiasts. Then the very first live streams were set up on social networks in 2017 that followed the Marathon du Mont Blanc and Sierre-Zinal. This first TV series dedicated to trail running is another new step in its evolution. "The trail running world never stops evolving, and it’s thanks to the brands’ investment that the athletes, participants, organisers, media, retailers, consumers, spectators, and now the TV viewers can get their money’s worth", insists Greg Vollet.
"Not just a number"
Beyond sporting performance, "Chasing dreams" reveals top-level athletes’ personalities, it’s an invitation to go behind-the-scenes of the Golden trail Series and show viewers a glimpse of the elite trail running athletes’ real lives. "This series takes the opportunity to decode the athletes who aren’t just a number on a finish line, adds Grégory Vollet. Some are mothers who juggle their personal lives and an elite level sporting life, others are young hopefuls who dream of making a living from their sport, while some quit their jobs to embark on the sporting adventure 100%. Will they make it? What sacrifices do they have to endure to perform?"
